Art Prize

4th EDITION

Curated by Daniela Cotimbo

Powered by Alan Advantage, Frontiere

TIMELINESHIFT – move beyond this wrong timeline is the title of the fourth edition of the Re:humanism Art Prize, a prize established in 2018 by the cultural association Re:humanism to explore the relationship between art and artificial intelligence and open to all professional artists, regardless of age or geographical origin.

This year’s edition explores the concept of time, often experienced from a Western perspective oriented towards the future and productivity, but today calls for openness to other cultural and ritual forms. It is an invitation to rediscover, in technologies and everyday life, a synchronicity capable of reconnecting individual experience with the world around us, including living species, artificial entities and ourselves.

Timeline Shift attempts to go beyond this ‘wrong timeline’, enabling the ability to influence the world and technological progress, almost like a collective spell. At the same time, it also aims to stimulate reflections on how to rethink obsolete value systems, inviting artists to imagine and experiment with tools capable of overcoming the current condition. The aim is to trace trajectories towards a more inclusive, ethical and sustainable future.
