On the occasion of Maker Art 2020, a section of Maker Faire Rome entirely dedicated to the relationship between art, science and technology, Re:Humanism proposes a series of talks dedicated to the exploration of the themes of the call for artists but useful to all those who want to explore more the universe and the impacts of Artificial Intelligence technologies.

How the concepts of body and identity change in the light of new discoveries in science and technology. What role does AI play in these changes? This is one of the themes underlying the second edition of Re: Humanism, the award dedicated to the relationship between art and artificial intelligence. The panel aims to frame the main transformations that the universe of artificial intelligence technologies has brought to contemporary artistic practices with particular reference to performance and all those approaches that identify the body as a place for exploring identity.

Re:Humanism – Poetics and politics of Artificial Intelligence – Maker Faire Rome 2020

How is a technology such as artificial intelligence impacting our lives and how do contemporary artists react to such changes? We talk about it in a round table with the main Italian experts on the relationship between art and technological media aimed at exploring aesthetic phenomena and socio-cultural implications of AI technologies. The event, curated by the Re: humanism Cultural Association, aims to offer thematic food for thought for artists and researchers who want to participate in the second edition of the Re: humanism Art Prize but also for all those who are interested in exploring this relationship from a different point of view.

Re:Humanism – AI in contemporary art: Labour and gender bias – Maker Faire Rome 2020

13. December 2020 [h. 11.00 – 12.00]

The talk investigates how the spread of Artificial Intelligence technological systems influence people’s lives, their habits and even more their work on an existential level. The focus will be placed on how the gender bias are perpetrated in the man-machine relationship and as well as in automated work of AI the female point of view of both stereotyped. The topic will be addressed by comparing the views of an international artist who focuses his recent work on human activities in Artificial Intelligence service and a graduate student in ethics philosopher of technology, with particular attention to the relationship between artificial intelligence, big data and gender bias.
